Get out of your comfort zone!
This weekend I pushed myself out of my comfort zone twice. I also experienced things for the first time. I guess those two things often go hand in hand.
I went to my first ecstatic dance, basically a conscious (sober & no talking) dance exploring free movement, sound, energy and connection. It welcomes everyone and everything. It blew my mind. The more I allowed myself to let go of my thinking mind, the more I embodied new ways of moving. It was incredibly freeing and liberating. Dancing is expression. I felt true appreciation and love for my body. I could feel myself releasing what I needed to let go of. I can’t wait to do it again!
I then attended my first women’s circle lead by the beautiful @charlieleighyoga. The bravery in vulnerability shared was so deeply moving. Today someone reminded me of a quote:
“Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about”
How true this is. Women hold so much pain & struggle (but not just women of course Men too) and very rarely do we have space to just be heard and not forced opinions on or judgements.
Safe space to express freely is what we had and sometimes the speaking out loud and acknowledging ‘the pain’ is the hardest part but yet the most powerful.
Speak your truth, speak about your struggles, share with someone you trust or at such a space like Charlie’s Women Circle. I know that by doing so, you create a ripple effect of breaking through the stigma that sharing our vulnerability is weak.
It is only power and courage! 💪
